“You are the head technical engineer of a company and you are required to setup computers in the Finance department. You are assigned to assemble a few computers, perform BIOS configurations and install Windows OS on all computers.

Components provided: Chassis, CPU and heatsink, Motherboard, 2 x 1GB Memory RAM, PCI-e Graphic Card,PSU,Display monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Motherboard has on-board components such as LAN, USB, Firewire.

Their requirement includes security against hackers, bootable viruses and illegal software installation. You are asked to produce a report on how to assemble them from the beginning with detailed step-by-step procedures, i.e. Preparations before assembly and make a check list before powering up the computer.

However after assembly, some computers are giving out error beeps. The computers are using AMI BIOS. You need to know the purpose of the error beeps and what the beep codes represent as follows:

a)     3 beeps

b)     5 beeps

c)      8 beeps

Some computers also cannot power up (motherboard no LED light indicator) and some are only showing 1GB RAM size. You need to troubleshoot the errors and ensure all computers are running perfectly.”
